Do you feel like something is constantly standing in the way of your happiness? Has your life turned into a series of unfortunate events lately?
Well, maybe the problem is hiding deep in your own thoughts.
Believe it or not, everything that you feel and experience daily, your entire reality, is shaped mostly by the thoughts in your head. Therefore, you are the only thing that stands in the way of your happiness. The things you allow to consume your mind eventually takeover and predetermine your perception of everything around you.
Below are listed several toxic thoughts that might have an extremely negative influence over your whole life.
1. ‘The right time will come.’
Have you watched any movie ever? There is no such thing as the right time. If you dig deeper into yourself and realize that nothing in life is promised, you’ll see that the time is always now or never. And if you feel like you’re not ready to take this step, the truth is, you’ll never be ready. That’s why you need to start trusting your instincts and keep moving forward.
2. ‘Am I good enough for my partner?’
Instead of wondering whether you’re good enough for your partner, think about why you are still with someone who makes you insecure about yourself. Romantic relationships should be based on love, support, and respect. If you’re with someone who makes you doubt your self-worth, you may need to reevaluate your connection with this person. You are the only person you need to be good enough for.
3. ‘What would people say?’
As long as you are satisfied with what you are, nothing else should matter. If what you’re doing with your life makes you happy, who cares what anyone else thinks of you? Seriously, stop wasting your energy on people who would be glad to see you fail. And please don’t spend your whole life trying to please others by neglecting your true nature.
4. ‘I’m a failure.’
Every person in this world has failed. Everyone has had downfalls in their life. You are not a failure, especially if you start learning from your mistakes. That’s how you build your character. And with every loss or failing, you have another opportunity to start over and prove yourself you can do better.
5. ‘I’m better than all of you.’
Frankly, this kind of attitude won’t get you anywhere. Of course, you’re not better than everyone else. No matter how skilled or talented you are, there is always going to be someone better. But that’s not the point. The point is, even if you see that someone is not as experienced as you, you shouldn’t treat them as if they were insignificant. Kindness is treating the janitor with the same respect as the CEO. Embrace that.
6. ‘I’m scared.’
Someone once said, ‘Life begins where fear ends.’ We are all afraid of something. We all are running from our fears while we need to be facing them. The truth is, fear exists only in our minds. It casts a large shadow of doubts, but in reality, it’s all in our heads. You shouldn’t let the fear of what might happen to make nothing happen at all.
7. ‘I hate my life.’
To be honest, we have all been there. But life has so much more to offer. If you feel like your life is going nowhere and everything you put your energy into fails, seek help from a dear friend. No one should go through such emotional struggles alone. Moreover, take a step back and try to think of what you can do yourself to change the situation. The positive transformation always starts within you.
