1. State your boundaries

Boundaries are important because they create a wall between people and whats important to you, like personal space. It’s crucial that you stick to your boundaries and make sure that you don’t allow people who you barely know to take advantage of your kindness or generosity.

2. Say no to drama 

Toxic people tend to have drama follow them where ever they go. They can’t help but attract it, whether they’re creating it or not. Successful people know that drama does no good and doesn’t deserve any kind of attention. It’s important to detox from drama and the toxic people that bring drama to your life so that you can live life drama free.

3. Learn to recognize false flattery and kindness

One thing toxic people love doing is dishing out false kindness and flattery disguised as genuine kindness and interest. Intelligent people know when someone is being fake and find it insulting when someone dishes out falseness. They do this to make you like them, even though they do not entirely like you. It’s a childish game which holds no ground and is only used by spineless people with a hidden agenda.

4. Forgive but don’t forget

Instead, choose forgiveness, forgiveness is liberating and healing. However, one must never forget the wrongdoing, learn from it so that you won’t allow it to happen again.

5. Learn to rise above the negativity

Sometimes negative people will bring you down with their negativity to the point where you feel almost suffocated by it. Learn to rise above their negativity by being true to who you are. Intelligent and successful people don’t allow toxic people to dictate their emotions or state of mind.
