You’re not alone! Almost Every Mom Struggles With These 7 Things

Being a mother means constantly feeling exhausted and overwhelmed.

Do you ever look at the pictures other mothers upload on Instagram and wonder how their life is so put together? Have you ever felt like you are the only one who cannot seem to have the perfect balance? Is everything stressing you out and do you feel like you are failing as a mother? If so, you are not alone. In reality, nobody has the perfect balance and nobody’s life is put together. More importantly, you are not failing as a mother.

There are 7 things that almost EVERY mom struggles with.

1. You can never find time to relax.

You do not have the time to take a break – even if it is for just an hour. This is because you are constantly on the move and you put everyone else’s needs before your own.

2. You struggle with self-image issues.

After having a baby, your body has changed. You do not like how you look and you do not even have the time to do anything about it.

3. You never have enough time for all your chores.

No matter how hard you work or how early you wake up, there seems to never be enough time. Cleaning the house is frustrating because by the time you’re done tidying up, the children have caused a mess once more. You feel like you can never be as productive as you would like to be.

4. You can never get enough sleep

You are the first one to wake up and you are the last one to fall asleep. In addition to this, you wake up numerous times throughout the night to check on your children. Unsurprisingly, you cannot even remember the last time you had a proper night’s sleep.

5. You do not take care of yourself like you should.

Since you had children, your eating habits have changed drastically. That is, while you always make sure that your children have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, you never seem to have the time to eat three meals. Instead, you grab snacks while you rush around doing chores.

6. You find it impossible to keep the spark alive.

Your relationship has suffered as you not only lack the time to put in the effort but you are also constantly exhausted. Having children means putting the needs of your relationship second and sometimes even last. Of course, as time goes by and your children get older, your love life will improve.

7. When you do have time for yourself, you miss your children.

Initially, when you get some time to relax, you feel relieved. However, you soon realize that as much as you wish that you could have alone time more often, you hate being away from your children. You not only miss them but you also feel overwhelmed by worry for them.

Ultimately, being a mother is difficult. You feel exhausted, overwhelmed and under-appreciated. What is worse, you often feel unhappy with yourself because you can never take time for self-care and self-love. Despite all of this, even though you know that motherhood is challenging, you also know that it is absolutely worth it.
