On her verified Instagram account, Captain Kate McCue has amassed over 209k followers. She is the first American woman to earn the title of Captain on a ‘mega’ cruise ship. This is an impressive achievement and it is one that takes years to accomplish. According to CNN, Captain McCue is currently the captain of the Celebrity Edge and she is employed by Celebrity Cruises.

A sexist troll questioned Captain Kate McCue’s rank as they commented:
“How can you be a captain? Your [sic] only a woman.”
In response to this, Captain McCue released a TikTok which has since gone viral.
Captain Kate McCue addressed the troll’s grammatical error and clarified the difference between ‘Your’ and ‘You’re’. She wittily explained that there is a difference between “You’re ignorant” and “Your ignorance”. The captain went further as she concluded the TikTok by saying, “If you need any more clarification, you can find me here. In my Captain’s chair.”
