5 Types of Emotional Vampires You Should Stay Away From

“Energy vampires prey on others because they are in pain, and their behavior is a disguised cry for help. However, the important thing to remember is that you are not responsible for resolving their issues. While you can offer help to an energy vampire, it is ultimately their responsibility to sort our their struggles.”

Were you ever left feeling completely exhausted just by spending time with a specific person, for no apparent reason?

If the answer is yes, you may have dealt with an energy vampire.

The bad news is, they are more common than you might believe.

If you feel drained of energy by people in your life, it is time to move away from them.

Energy vampires attack you because they subconsciously want to resolve a deeper psychological issue – and they see you as the solution to their problems.

To avoid getting involved with these people here are 5 types of energy vampires you should look out for.

1. The passive-aggressive vampire

This vampire expresses anger in a calm and smiley manner. They are incredibly efficient when it comes to sweetening their hostility. And even though most of us are guilty of having used this method at some point, these people just take it to another level.

The best defense mechanism against a passive-aggressor is to set up proper boundaries. You deserve to be treated with love, respect, and sincerity, and you shouldn’t have to tolerate this, no matter what.

2. The victim vampire

The victim vampire drains you by constantly making you feel pity for them. Everyone is against them and that is the sole reason for their never-ending failures. And when you offer a solution to their problems, they just reply by saying “Yeah, but…” At some point, you might start to avoid their messages and calls, because even though you want to help them, their constant whining is just too much to bear.

3. The judgemental vampire

Due to their extremely low sense of self-worth, these people love to badmouth and pick on others. And their treatment of other people is a reflection of how they treat themselves. They enjoy poking at your insecurities because it gives them an ego boost, while you are left to feel small and ashamed.

4. The controlling vampire

This type is obsessively trying to control you and tell you how you should be feeling and what you should be doing. They have a made-up mind about everything. They will control you by belittling your emotions when you don’t fit into their own book of rules. Often, they will start sentences with “I know what you need…” and proceed to lecture you until you start feeling demeaned and dominated.

5. The attacking vampire

These people’s sole purpose for existence is to attack, humiliate, criticize, and create conflict. They are rage addicts and love to hold people in check and punish them as they see fit. They make you feel helpless and mentally crushed with their never-ending fits of rage.
