WTF?! Used condoms have been repackaged and sold by a Vietnamese factory

The word “protection” just got a whole new nasty meaning.

A Vietnamese factory was caught washing and reselling over 320,000 used condoms to pass them off as brand new, according to authorities who busted the criminal operation.

In order to “recycle” the disgusting rubbers, 32-year-old Pham Thi Thanh Ngoc reportedly had around 1000 of them delivered each month to her Tan Uyen Town rental facility, where she washed and folded them back into their original shape, as per the Vietnam Insider.

Pham reshaped the condoms by using a wooden shaft to make them look like new again – then put them in new packaging, according to the news publication.

During the bust on Saturday, local authorities confiscated 324,000 used rubbers in total, officials reported. The exact number sold to customers is unknown but is most likely in the thousands.

“Condoms are classified as medical items, so we will take a look at the several laws that the owner has broken,” a government official said, according to Vietnam Explorer.

Further details have not yet been uncovered, authorities say.

The practice of washing and reusing condoms can cause infection and disease, according to the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
