A young lady was made fun of by her family and friends when she went in to get her “face done” and was left with a square head due to the swelling and bruising caused by the procedure.
Australian Sofia Marroquin, 19, decided to opt for a treatment called Kybella, which is an FDA-approved procedure involving a nonsurgical injection method that is intended to reduce the fat from under the chin. Unfortunately, it left Sofia with an abnormally swollen and square-looking appearance.
Side effects of the injection include pain, swelling, redness, and numbness, as per Healthline.
Sofia shared the horrific results on her TikTok account and the video said:
“Yep, so just got some lovely needles into my face. My family has absolutely no idea what I’ve just done and I’m about to get their reaction.”
i got my face done💉 probs deleting this soon lol #reactions
The first one to witness the transformation was Sofia’s father.
In the video, he gasps in shock at the face of his child.
“Oh my goodness.”
Sofia’s mother had a similar reaction. She said her daughter’s name and then her sister came to see what was going on.
Unlike their mom and dad, Sofia’s sister was having fun at her expense, and could not contain her laughter. At this stage, the family was not told that it was only swollen temporarily.
Sofia’s best friend then approached her cautiously. She admitted that seeing Sofia in this way left her “scared.”

Thus far, the video has amassed millions of views.
At first, her fans did not know that she had undergone the procedure, which left them utterly confused when they saw her square head appear on their screens.
Sofia decided to address everyone’s concerns in the comments and shared an “explanation” as to why she underwent the procedure in the first place.
“Lots of people have been asking why I made my face look like a rectangle. I didn’t purposefully make my face look like a rectangle.”
Laughingly, she explained:
“I got a treatment done called Kybella which removes fat from the lower part of your face. People tend to get it for your double chin but I got it in my jowls area.
“Mine was really fatty covering up my jaw so I just wanted to remove that fat – just a little bit – just to make it look a little better. That’s all.
“It’s still really swollen and really numb, I can’t feel that”
Reply to @mellgagne here’s an explanation!!
Sofia went on sharing content featuring her square-shaped head, which even though intended to be funny was met with a backlash of negativity.
People said that she now looked like various cartoon characters including Lord Farquaad from Shrek and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story.
Reply to @nansnsnja0 i love squares ⬜️🤩 btw if you’re still confused, i’ve explained it in an entire video
But Sofia laughed it all off by saying:
“I love squares.”
The square girl now seems to have recovered from the swelling and looks pretty much normal.
