Why Morning People Are Often More Successful

There is something about the calm, gentle energy of the early morning that is not only great for meditation and visualisation, but also for business success.

A study published in a top Psychology journal, found that those who wake up before 6 AM are not only more productive and friendlier, they are also more successful when it comes to business and their careers.
In fact, 90% of the top CEOs, entrepreneurs and artists believe in waking up before 6 AM to get the best start to the day.

Maybe the early bird does get the worm……

Not convinced? Here are 11 reasons why waking up early can make you more successful in life:

1.) There are less distractions in the morning which means you can get more things done, especially personal things that you perhaps don’t have time to prioritise during the day.

2.) You can start your day off calm and relaxed rather than rushing around trying to get everything ready.

3.) Your mind is both clearer and sharper in the morning which means you can tackle your most difficult tasks of the day, rather than procrastinating to the late afternoon when it is most likely to feel daunting.

4.) Crossing things off your “to-do” list early in the morning can give you drive and motivation for the day ahead.

5.) You have more time to eat a nutritious breakfast, which can kick start your metabolism and help you feel energised.

6.) Waking up early means you have time to exercise which releases serotonin, making you feel good and happy.

7.) When you wake up early chances are you will also go to bed earlier, helping you to get a better nights sleep. As Benjamin Franklin once said- “early to bed and early to rise makes one healthy, wealthy and very wise.”

8.) Your mind is the most reflective and still in the morning making it a perfect time for meditation and visualisation.

9.) In Ancient Chinese Medicine, the hours between 5-7 am are the best for your digestive fire. This means that during this time you should eliminate waste from your body and “fuel your fire” with nutrients for the day.

10.) Studies show that our mind is most creative at night, but most productive in the morning, making it the perfect time to take those creative ideas and put them into action.

11.) One of the best benefits of waking up earlier is that you will have more time in the day to do things that you love. Spend your extra time with family, your furry friend or take up a hobby- the possibilities are endless when you give yourself a little extra time.

So, never considered yourself a morning person? Why not give it a try and see what a difference it could make to your life.
