WATCH: Father of Little Girl, 8, Killed in Atlanta “They say Black Lives Matter. You killed your own”

An 8-year-old girl lost her life after she was shot during a night of terror across Atlanta.

The incident took place on University Avenue just before 10 p.m. It happened around the same location where Rayshard Books was shot and killed by an ex-police officer last month, as per CBS46.

According to authorities, Secoriea Turner was with her mother and another person in a car when the vehicle exited the interstate near the intersection of University Avenue and Pryor Road. Police said the car was headed towards a parking lot on the 1200 block of Pryor Road when they were met by an armed mob who were illegally blocking the entryway.

One of them started firing at the vehicle and one of the shots hit the little girl.

The wounded child was quickly taken to Atlanta Medical Center in a private car, but she lost her life due to the severe injuries.

“They say Black Lives Matter. You killed your own.” Secoriya Williamson, the father of the girl, addressed the public during a press conference.

The suspects of the killing were described as a group of black men.

One of them was dressed fully in black and looked like a bounty hunter, according to authorities. The second man wore a white short-sleeve. A reward of $10,000 is being offered for information regarding the suspects. Tipsters have the option to remain anonymous and still receive the cash. The number to call is 404-577-8477.

In addition to Secoria’s shooting, police are investigating a number of other shootings across Atlanta during a night of violence that also ended with the vandalization of the Georgia State Patrol Headquarters.

July 4th protests also took place in Washington, but they remained non-violent for the most part. However, protesters managed to shut down the city, marching on the highway and forcing closures between Virginia and Washington that left the capital paralyzed. In addition, they burned an Americal flag in front of the White House.

Charmaine Turner, the mother of the child urged people to come forward with any information leading up to the arrest of those involved in the shooting.

Atlanta Mayor Keisha Bottoms said during a press conference that it is time for people to “clear out of that area” where Rayshard Brooks was shot.

“This discussion, this mediation, and … it’s over. At a point where an 8-year-old baby is killed, the discussions have ended.”
