Two officers deliver baby in police parking lot as mom can’t make it to hospital

California cops helped deliver a baby in the police parking lot as the mom couldn’t make it to the hospital in time.

Two officers from the Stockton Police Department recently had an extraordinary experience while on duty. The kindhearted cops helped a woman in her most vulnerable moment – as she was giving birth.

The rare encounter with new life took place at the police parking lot, Newsner reveals.

On September 27, 2020, at 7:46 am, a man approached a Stockton PD Officer at Washington St/El Dorado St as his wife was having a baby. At the time, the woman was sitting in the passenger seat of their car, already in “active labor.”

The future dad initially asked the cop if he could take them to the nearest hospital. However, the officer directed him to the parking lot at the police department and called an ambulance.

But as they were still waiting for an emergency team to arrive, the woman’s waters broke. Thankfully, two other officers with medical experience rushed to help and successfully delivered the baby. Both the mom and the newborn were taken to the hospital.

A Facebook post by Stockton Police Department explains:

“Two more officers arrived who had prior medic experience. They both took over without hesitation to deliver the baby. The baby, Semaj, was born in the front lot of the Police Department at 7:50 am.

The baby and mother are doing fine at the hospital.”
