Two Children Die After Being Locked Inside Boiling-Hot Truck

A man from Tulsa, Oklahoma was arrested after officers say he left his kids inside a loaded truck for five hours.

31-year-old Dustin Lee Dennis is now facing two counts of second-degree murder after his kids, who were both under five years of age, died as a consequence of being left in the vehicle, according to a police report.

The father told police he and his children went to QuikTrip at midday after which they went back home according to a police report.

A member of the family identified both children as Teagan, 4, and Ryan, 3.

According to police, a neighbor had a video recording of Dennis exiting and locking his truck before going inside on his own.

“The children had not been checked on for nearly five hours during the time they were locked inside vehicle,” a police report states.

Temperatures in Tulsa rose to the 90s, as per the National Weather Service.

In a matter of minutes inside the boiling car, a little child can start suffering dangerous symptoms of heatstroke, as per Kidsandcars. The interior of a vehicle turns into a sauna as temperatures rise very fast.
