10 painful truths you need to accept if you want to find happiness

Do you still wonder what’s the way to the absolute happiness everyone keeps talking about? Well, we might have the answer.

But first, you need to understand that life doesn’t come with an instruction manual. There is no written book on what’s the right way to react in every situation possible. It’s all too random, unpredictable, and awfully confusing at times. And just as we start to believe we have it all figured out, something comes in our way, turns our world upside down, and drags us back to the beginning.

This emotional rollercoaster we call life will be much easier to bear if we just accept a few harsh but significant truths.

1. You don’t have to fit in.

You are not obligated to fit into all the frames society has created. No written requirement says you need to behave and look just like everyone else. Indeed it takes courage to embrace your true self. But once you do, you will taste the sweet flavor of liberation, and you’ll never want to go back ever again.

2. Your comfort zone is holding you back.

If you wish to grow and to keep achieving your goals, you need to leave your comfort zone right now. You need to face your fears and take the first step towards your personal progress. Staying in your comfort zone might seem calming and carefree, but it’s actually killing your potential to be the person you truly wish to be. How can you expect your life to get better if you’re not willing to make any effort to change it?

3. You will fail many times.

Like it or not, you will experience failure many many times until you become successful and prosper in life. You need to accept that, in order to grow and be happy.  Instead of getting depressed by your failures, get inspired. Turn every mistake into a valuable life lesson. Everything has a bright side if you open your mind and your soul to see it.

4. Life is unpredictable.

Nothing new, right? But as you seem to believe that you are prepared for whatever crazy situation life puts you in, you are not. There is always something that will surprise you and make you rethink every decision you’ve made so far. You cannot expect life to always go according to your plan. So instead of making plans, make long-term goals and chase them no matter what challenge you need to face on your way.

5. People will disappoint you.

Unfortunately, the ones you love the most might deeply disappoint you and completely lose your trust. They might break your heart and make the recovery process extremely hard. The best thing you can do to protect yourself from such an emotional pain is to stop expecting so much of people. Not everyone loves like you, not everyone cares the way you do, and not everyone invests in a relationship as much as you do.

6. Nothing is permanent.

Take this however you like. Nothing in life is truly forever. Nor the love, nor the struggles. So you need to appreciate every heartwarming moment, every person that makes your life a little brighter, and every accomplishment you achieve on your own. On the other hand, whenever you’re stuck in a loop of painful hard times, have hope that this will not last forever.

7. What you have is exactly what you need.

If you dig a little deeper and take a look at the law of attraction, you will realize that you attract exactly what you deserve. There are no coincidences. Every single person in your life is there for a reason. Besides, everything you’re going through comes with a valuable lesson. All you need to do is to see those lessons and learn from them.

8. You cannot force anyone to love you.

Not everyone will love you or even like you, but that’s perfectly fine. You don’t need everyone to be all over you. You need a few who will be real and will support you through thick and thin. Yes, some people will hate you and envy your success. But who cares, when you have your loved ones who appreciate you and are glad they have you in their lives? These are the ones you should truly care about.

9. We are all confused.

Life is all messed up and complicated for all of us. The good news is, you’re not alone in your confusion. Some people might seem like they have it all figured out, but they don’t. Everyone has their own insecurities and imperfections. That’s why, instead of comparing yourself to someone else, work on fixing your own issues and focus on your wellbeing. No one else will come into your life and magically solve all of your problems.

10. You are all alone.

One of the most bitter truths is that you were born alone, and you will die alone. You can fully trust and rely only on yourself. The only person that can save you is yourself. So pull yourself together. Be your own goddamn hero. Find the motivation to keep chasing your goals within you. Happiness is not an award you win for best performance. It’s something you create by yourself.
