To My Ex, Thank You For Teaching Me What To Avoid So I Can Move On And Find True Love

Finding the right path to a happy love life is perhaps the most difficult task for every human being.

Most of us go through numerous heartbreaks until we find the one who is truly right for us.

While my ex caused me pain I thought I would never be able to recover from, thanks to them, I became who I am today. And while I am certainly not thankful for what I’ve been put through, I am thankful for the lessons I’ve learned from the bad experiences. Yes, I suffered a lot, but without having met this person, I wouldn’t have known the true meaning of toxicity.

Experiencing what my ex put me through taught me a lot about how fake people can be.

People who pretend to be loving, loyal, and caring only to use you for their own selfish purposes. I learned that I should take my time before trusting and investing my whole heart in a person. But I let bygones be bygones and I am now much stronger after having gone through this experience.

I will not allow anyone to take advantage of me anymore, and that is a promise I made to myself since you betrayed me.

Thanks to you I learned what love was not so I can go on and learn what love truly is. And if I had to go back and do it all over again, I would, because otherwise, I wouldn’t have learned this valuable lesson.

Yes, we had some good times, but we were clearly not made for each other and the things you’ve put me through completely changed the way I see the world. You did manage to make me see things clearly so that I could find the right path to true happiness without wasting any more time on people like you.

And don’t bother trying to make things right.

I never want to see you again. And while you certainly have some personality issues to work on, I do hope you find the right path and I hope you find someone who you’d truly love and receive love back. Life is too short for holding grudges, and as far as I’m concerned, it’s time to move on.
