Viral TikTok user Dutchintheusa has shared a technique that could save lives. In a video that has been viewed over 6.6 million times, the Dutch influencer shows how to escape in case an attacker attempts to strangle you from inside a car.
As UNILAD describes, the video starts with the social media celebrity simulating being strangled with a cord around his neck while sitting in the passenger seat of a car. He then shows how if you end up in a similar situation, you should turn yourself sideways in a way that protects your throat.
Afterward, he advises that you should place your hand behind the cord with your elbow on the seat.

Next, the TikToker with more than 3.1 million followers demonstrates how you can grab this hand with your other hand while pushing your elbow back and the cord forward. This way, you will be able to create space to get the cors away from your throat.

He notes that the first thing you should do is wait inside until the car pulls up. Then, as the Dutchman recommends, you should validate the driver’s information. The next thing you should do is check the license plate, snap it, and send the picture to a friend, in case something unexpected happens.
Once you’re inside the vehicle, you should see if the child safety lock works and roll down your windows. This way, if you cannot open the door from the inside, you can grab the handle from the outside and get out of the car.
Last but not least, the TikToker says you should stay focused. Validating your route via Google Maps is a preferable step to help you be aware of where the driver is taking you.
