These three little words are a big turn-on (Hint: It’s not ‘I love you’)

Which is the stimulating phrase that Americans vote as the biggest turn-on?

According to new research, neck kisses, eye contact, and biting are amongst America’s 20 biggest turn-ons. But there is one phrase that stimulates Americans like no other.

The survey questioned 2,000 men and women about their sexual preferences, as the New York Post reveals. The study’s results showed that the three simple words “I like that” in an intimate context were the second most-preferable stimulant.

In 2018, sex toy retailer EdenFantasys.com aimed to unseal the mystery around American’s biggest turn-ons and, analogously, turn-offs. Their conclusions revealed that around 76% of the participants in the research find this little reassurance from their partner incredibly attractive.

While this evocative phrase took the second spot on the list, the first place was taken by neck kisses.

Some of the other high-ranked sexual stimulants include being teased, being rough, getting spanked, and role-playing. Using sex toys in bed was also amongst the top American’s bedroom favorites.

Are the biggest turn-ons different for men and women?

The examiners discovered that men and women have significantly diverse preferences when it comes to physical intimacy.

For example, the jaw-dropping 76% of men claim they find going down on their partners as a huge drive, while the percentage of women who enjoy this activity is 20% less. What is more, 23% of the ladies who took part in the survey said that going down on their partner was, in fact, a turn-off.

The only thing that women liked more than men as a part of their bedroom sessions was being teased. Around 52% of the females being surveyed claimed that being teased was definitely a turn-on, compared to 49% of the males.

Could non-sexual activities serve as turn-ons?

While focusing mainly on sexual stimuli, the retailer also highlighted several non-sexual things that turn people’s drive on. This might come as no surprise to many, but the biggest non-sexual turn-on, according to the respondents, is smelling good. The astonishing 69% of them were positive that a person’s odor is crucial when it comes to sex.

Second in the line with 64% was being affectionate. The third position was taken by receiving genuine appreciation with 61%. This proves that personality is as important as looks, if not more, when people choose their sexual partners.

Fred Petrenko of EdenFantasys.com explained:

“The study showed that non-physical affections are the biggest turn-ons for everyone. ‘All we need is love’ is as true today as it’s always been.”

Interestingly, the study revealed that 37 is the age when Americans are at their kinkiest.

Petrenko confirmed:

“Not surprisingly, sex toys are one of the major turn-ons for many couples. We encourage people to experiment more in the bedroom for a happier and sexier life.”
