The Twilight Saga: ‘Midnight Sun’, the highly anticipated prequel of the vampire love-story, is coming out this summer

Twilight fans, you’re gonna love this! The long-anticipated retelling of the vampire saga is finally here.

Believe it or not, it has been 15 years since the release of the first Twilight book. Now, the vampire romance fans rejoice as author Stephanie Meyer announced the release of the Midnight Sun on Good Morning America.

The last book from The Twilight Saga will follow the love story between vampire Edward Cullen and human Bella Swan but told from Edward’s perspective. Midnight Sun will offer fans insight into the vampire’s life before meeting his human soulmate. The long-awaited novel will be available on August 4th.

The author explained why she chose to announce her latest book right now:

“I hope this book gives my readers a little pleasure to anticipate and if it arrives, a chance to live in an imaginary world for a while. It’s a crazy time right now and I wasn’t sure if this was the right time to put this book out, but some of you have been waiting for just so, so long. It didn’t seem fair to make you wait anymore. Sorry about the bad timing. Hopefully, this book can be a distraction from the real world.”

Stephanie Meyer also admits she’s very excited to finally share her book with the millions of Twilight fans all over the world.

As Mail Online reports, the author shared a similar sentiment in a press release:

“I hope this book gives my readers a little pleasure to anticipate and, if it arrives, a chance to live in an imaginary world for a while. I can’t express how much I appreciate the patience of my readers, and their support over the years it took to finish Midnight Sun.”

Midnight Sun has been in the works for over a decade. In fact, Meyer released a draft of the story’s first chapter ‘First Sight’ on her blog back in 2008, when fans were crazy about Edward and Bella’s unique love story. Later on, more chapters from the book were leaked, so the author decided to halt the project.

August 4th will be an extremely exciting day for all the Twilight fans, as they will finally be able to dive into Edward’s mind and see their beloved story through his eyes.

Meyer shared on her website:

“His side of Bella’s first day at Forks High School is a hundred times more exciting than her own.”

The first Twilight book came out in 2005, becoming an international sensation. The massive success the book had led to its sequels New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn, also worldwide bestsellers.
