The Shawshank Redemption Voted Best Film Of All Time

The Shawshank Redemption has been voted best film of all time after a Twitter poll was conducted by LADbible, which featured the top four ranked movies on IMDb.

This doesn’t exactly come as a surprise since the films in the poll have been at the top of the web’s most-visited movie sites.

Frank Darabont’s The Shawshank Redemption went head to head with Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight The Godfather and The Godfather Part II.

Almost half of the vote went to The Shawshank Redemption (47.4%), with The Dark Knight breathing in its neck with 33.9%.

Coppola’s gangster classic came in 3rd with 11.2% and The Godfather II took 7.4% of the pie.

The Shawshank Redemption’s lead characters are played by Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman – two prisoners who become friends while spending time behind bars.

The other classics in the list were picked due to their high ranking on the IMDB website.

At the moment, Nolan’s Batman blockbuster takes 9.0 on IMBD, and the same goes for The Godfather Part II.

The Godfather starring Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, and James Caan has a rating of 9.1, while The Shawshank Redemption has taken a 9.2 score out of 10.

Each movie on the list holds legendary status, but when it comes to the best of the best, the majority of audiences have crowned The Shawshank Redemption.
