Stray dog steals stuffed unicorn FIVE TIMES until an officer finally buys the toy for him

An adorable stray dog that tried to steal the same stuffed unicorn five times finally got it thanks to a kindhearted officer.

  • A stray Lab mix named Sisu tried to steal the same stuffed toy five times from a Dollar General.
  • Eventually, an officer from Duplin County Animal Control bought the purple unicorn for the four-legged criminal.
  • The happy dog even found a loving adopter from the North Carolina Lab Rescue.

Meet Sisu – the stray dog with a heart-melting smile and a criminal mind. Sisu the dog broke into a Dollar General in Kenansville, North Carolina, five times to steal the same toy – a stuffed purple unicorn.

When the store owners spotted the four-legged thief, they contacted Duplin County Animal Control, as Daily Mail reports. But instead of punishing Sisu for his deed, a compassionate officer purchased the stuffed toy and gave it to him as an award for his adorableness.

As CNN notes, the department posted a series of photos on Facebook showing just how happy Sisu is with his beloved purple unicorn. Their social media post said:

“This is what happens when you break into the dollar general consistently to steal the purple unicorn that you laid claim to but then get animal control called to lock you up for your B & E and larceny but the officer purchases your item for you and brings it in with you.”

Gratefully, a person from the North Carolina Lab Rescue fell in love with Sisu’s story and adopted him.

According to ABC News Channel 12, someone from the North Carolina Lab Rescue is set to adopt the 1-year-old Lab mix, who takes his stuffed friend everywhere he goes.

“SISU HAS AN ADOPTER AND A RESCUE!

Samantha Lane, the animal control service officer who bought the toy and gave it to Sisu, was more than happy to help. Duplin County Animal Control Supervisor Joe Newburn commented:

“This is something she’s always done. This isn’t something new to her, it’s just a different dog, but yes, she’s always doing this stuff for the animals.”

Responding to the curious development of the story, Dollar General’s corporate office said they will make donations to Duplin County Animal Services. In a statement, they wrote:

“We are paws-itively thrilled that Sisu is enjoying his new toy! We are also grateful for Animal Control Officer Lane in helping to rescue him. To show our appreciation, we plan to provide the Duplin County Animal Services with a pet food donation and Officer Lane with a special thank you gift, as well as a few extra of Sisu’s beloved purple unicorns to his eventual adoptive family.”
