Stray dog found keeping five newborn kittens warm on the side of a road

On a freezing-cold Canadian night, a stray dog was found keeping five baby kittens warm on the side of a road.

The heroic dog was spotted by a passing motorist in Ontario, Canada. It was curled up on the side of the road, snuggling the newborn kittens, and protecting them from the cold.

Serenity, the dog, probably saved those baby kittens’ lives. If she had not kept them warm until the driver stopped, they would have not survived the harsh cold temperatures.

Our stray sweetheart is keeping her “babies” safe at the shelter tonight!

When the motorist found this heart-melting scene, he called the Pet and Wildlife Rescue. Serenity and her kittens were quickly picked up by an animal control officer and are now in good condition.

After the rescue organization posted Serenity’s story on social media, many people were touched and wanted to adopt the pup and the kittens together.

Pet and Wildlife Rescue later made a follow-up post where they tell the story of the brave dog and how she kept the five newborns warm and probably saved their life. They share their wishes to find the lovely animals their new forever homes as soon as possible. On behalf of Serenity, they say:

“I’m surprised that so many people applied to adopt me when they don’t even know my personality or quirks yet – I must just be THAT cute!”

I have been getting A LOT of attention on social media, but let me fill you in just in case you don't know my name and…
