A husband-and-wife-to-be were on their way to tie the knot when a big storm kicked in.
And while everyone was trying to hide from the storm, Marilia and Matheus Pieroni were joined by a stray dog covered in mud, who was also looking for a place to hide.
The wedding staff then escorted the animal outside, but he wandered back a little later.
And while the husband and wife were saying their vows, the pup entered the hall once again, to lay down on the bride’s veil for some much-needed rest.
Marilia told The Dodo:
“As the ceremony started, to everyone’s surprise, it was the dog who came in when the bridal chorus began to play. The dog entered and laid down to sleep on my veil.
It was a very pleasant surprise for me, because I love animals. I liked it very much.”
When the wedding came to an end, the couple made a social media post hoping to find the dog in order to give him a forever home.
Eventually, Marilia and Matheus were reunited with their new best friend, who they named Snoop, and now he is part of the family.
They hope their story will inspire other people to adopt homeless dogs.
“Here in Brazil, we have so many abandoned animals living in the street. We want to make an appeal to people to not buy animals and to adopt them instead.”
