Sexist doctor refused to tie a woman’s fallopian tubes because she was not married.

Ladies, what is the most sexist thing a man has ever said to you?

When Sarah Jo was 27, she made the serious decision to tie her fallopian tubes. It happened shortly after she gave birth to her second child. The experience was traumatizing because, as the mom revealed, both hers and her baby boy’s lives were in danger.

But instead of being met with understanding by her doctor, Sarah Jo received “the most sexist” response to her request. As UNILAD reports, the male specialist told her that he would not perform the tubal sterilization because “a woman should not make that decision.”

In the viral TikTok, Sarah Jo explained:

“When I was 27 years old, I had just had my second child, and I was talking to the doctor about getting my tubes tied because, at that point, I did not want any more children. The labor and delivery almost killed me and my son, so I was like, ‘Nope, don’t want any more.'”

Instead of respecting the woman’s decision, the doctor refused to help her.

She continued:

“When I asked him why, he said, ‘you’re not married.’ And I said, ‘what does that have to do with anything?'”

The specialist then answered that he doesn’t think Sarah Jo should make such a drastic move on her own. In his words, “it’s best that a man and a woman make that decision together.”

However, the mom-of-two stood her ground and told the doctor:

“This is my body, and I want to have my tubes tied.”

Many TikTok users supported the young mother and questioned whether the sexist doctor would have reacted the same if a man had asked him for a vasectomy.
