An HIV-infected pedophile who, according to authorities, wants to infect children has been released on bail.
38-year-old Jadd William Brooker was granted bail recently at the Christies Beach Magistrates Court in Adelaide to live in detention at his grandmother’s home.
However, he still remains in custody as prosecutors hope to appeal the decision in the Supreme Court.
Australian police warned the man should not be let go as he allegedly pursued teens for sex and tried to get rid of potential evidence, as per Adelaide Now.
Authorities allege one of the teens Brooker had sex with was unaware he was infected with HIV and was also the subject of child exploitation material.
‘(The surviving victim) was unaware of Brooker’s medical status when they engaged in sexual activity, and he is currently undergoing medical testing,’ prosecutors told the court on Thursday.
When Brooker was visited by his mother in prison she agreed to delete his Facebook account and he also asked her to erase other web accounts for him, according to the court.
He reportedly gave his email and password for his Microsoft Live account to his mother and asked her to erase it.
‘Given the nature of the charges, a lot of potential evidence is stored in the cloud – potentially millions of pieces of evidence – and this is an attempt to destroy it before police can uncover it,’ prosecutors said.

Brooker allegedly went after 19 children aged between 13 and 16 for online sex and is also connected to other pedophiles.
Even though Magistrate Rodney Oates was warned by police, he granted the bail due to Brooker having no criminal record, no breaches of bail, and the presumption of innocence.
‘I do take into account the fact other charges are being investigated but, in relation to this bail application, I must focus on the charges that are before this court,’ he told the court.
The 38-year-old is yet to plead a number of counts of disseminating and being in possession of child exploitation material.
Prosecutors believe the crimes took place from December 2015 and August 2020 and that Brooker has kept an unlawful relationship with two teen boys.
Investigators say they might have evidence that Brooker wanted to ‘infect both children and adults with HIV’.
Magistrate Oates decided to release Brooker on $1000 bail to live with his grandmother while being monitored 24/7.
Prosecutors are appealing the decision and the man’s release was delayed and pending a hearing.
