Pastor says women may not be ‘epic trophy wife’ but should be thin for their husbands. He’s now on leave.

Missouri pastor says women may not be “epic trophy wife,” but “sweatpants don’t cut it.”

  • Missouri pastor Stewart-Allen Clark claims: “God made men to be drawn to beautiful women.”
  • In a sexist speech posted on Facebook, the pastor comments on the way women should look and act around their husbands, saying things like: “Your man needs an attractive wife.” and “Don’t give him a reason to be looking around.”
  • The First General Baptist Church stated that the priest is on leave, following his misogynist sermon.

Stewart-Allen Clark, а First General Baptist Church Pastor from Missouri, is on leave after making sexists preaching, NBC News reports.

In a video posted on Facebook, the pastor claims that women must strive to be thin, well-groomed, and satisfying in the bedroom to please their men. Defending his obscene arguments, the priest said that “God made men to be drawn to beautiful women.”

The Baptist pastor continues:

“I want you to know a need that your man has that he won’t ever tell you about, but since I’m the preacher man, I’ll say it: Your man needs an attractive wife.”

The prejudiced priest is now on leave, according to an official statement by First General Baptist Church.

As of March 2, 2021, “Pastor Stewart-Allen Clark has taken a leave of absence and is seeking professional counseling,” the church’s deacon ministry team announced.

According to the official statement, Clark’s sermon “included comments that are not consistent with the positions and values of General Baptists.” It continues:

“General Baptists believe that every woman was created in the image of God, and they should be valued for that reason.”

Melania Trump was also mentioned in the pastor’s controversial preach, using the former First Lady as an example of how a woman should look like.

Clark said:

“I’m not saying every woman can be the epic trophy wife of all time, like Melania Trump. Maybe you’re a participation trophy. … But you don’t need to look like a butch either.”

He added:

“You need to know this, men have a need for their women to look like women. Sweatpants don’t cut it all the time huh. Men want their women to look good at home and in public. Can I get an amen?”

As per the Missouri priest, it is entirely up to a woman to look good in order to keep her man from cheating.

Extending his bigoted sermon, the pastor advised women not to give their men reasons to act like the “distracted boyfriend.” He then asked:

“Why is it so many times that women after they get married let themselves go?
Don’t give him a reason to be looking around … I really don’t believe women understand how visual men are. I don’t think women understand how important it is for a man to have a beautiful woman on his arm.”

While sharing his views on how a woman should act around her man, the priest added:

“You can call it juvenile, immature, sexist, [but] God made men to be drawn to beautiful women. We are made this way, we can’t help ourselves.”

The sexist pastor also claims that women should keep their weight down to please their men.

Revealing personal details about a couple he counseled, the priest said that previously, the woman “looked like a sumo wrestler,” but after she lost 100 pounds, their marriage was saved.

As of his own family, Clark said that his wife gave birth to three children, which made her look “robust.” However, after she started Weight Watchers, she lost about 50 pounds, which apparently saved his marriage as well.

“She wants me to look at her and nobody else. One of her favorite expressions is ‘food never tastes as good as skinny feels.’ I’m glad I have a wife that understands that’s the way I am.”

What’s even more shocking is the pastor’s claim that he has a friend who has put a “divorce weight” limit on his wife. He jokingly said:

“What’s the difference between a man’s wife and a man’s girlfriend? Oh, about 60 pounds.”

Clark also commented on makeup, hairstyles, and clothes, saying: “Praise God for makeup!”

The Missouri priest said women should ask no other but their husbands regarding what looks good on them, adding: “It’s important that he thinks you’re hot.”

He made an even more scandalous statement related to sex in marriage. Citing 1 Corinthians to preach, he said:

“The wife does not have authority over her own body but yields it to her husband. After you get married, men, put this on your headboard in the house. Whenever she’s not in the mood, take out your Bible.”

The Facebook user who posted the 22-minute-long video of the outrageous priest’s speech said a friend brought it to her attention. However, it is unclear whether the footage reveals the full sermon.
