A woman who was found bruised and bloodied in Croatia can still not be identified by police because she cannot remember who she is.
Police were left stunned after the woman, believed to be in her 60s, was seen by a fisherman while she was standing on sharp rocks on the island of Krk.
The woman’s face was reportedly cut in multiple places and she told police that she didn’t have a clue how she ended up there, as per The Sun.
Eventually, she was rescued by a 14-person team who had a difficult time reaching her due to the harsh terrain.
Strangely, the woman survived for days in an area where bears are known to roam, it was revealed.
A local islander told 24Sata the following:
“It’s weird that she was looking in the area at all. It is an extremely inaccessible part of the bay with terribly sharp rocks – literally razors that cut the rubber on your shoes.
There is no life or animals except maybe wild boars or bears which know how to swim to here in search of food, but this is a rarity because there is no food, nothing.
A woman that age certainly could not swim that distance, it needs exceptional strength.”
Even the woman’s nationality has not been confirmed yet, as she had no papers or a mobile device, but she has been described as being fluent in English.
She is now reportedly being looked after at a local hospital.
