In the viral video, which has been viewed nearly 5 million times, the sergeant tells his son:
“I’ve watched you grow and mature and become the man that you are today. You have always been respectful by saying… yes, sir, no sir; yes ma’am, no ma’am. A salute is a sign of respect. It is a privilege to render you your first salute. But it is an even greater honor to say congratulations, sir, for your commission.”
Another touching video shows the proud father shaking hands with his son before giving him a heartfelt hug.
In the follow-up video, while everyone in the room claps, Sgt. Fisher says:
“Ladies and gentlemen, my son: Second Lt. Fisher!”
