Man who attacked ex-girlfriend fatally stabbed, beaten by her mother and sister

Last month, a man broke into his ex-girlfriend’s home in South Pasadena and attacked her.

However, he did not succeed as he was stabbed to death by her mother and sister. The man had gone inside after throwing a large rock through the window. Afterwards, he went on to attack his 37-year-old ex and started choking her and punching her in the face, the New York Post reported.

While he was attacking the woman, her mother and sister tried to pull him away from her but with no success.

Eventually, they attacked him with a golf club and a kitchen knife, according to authorities.

Upon arrival at the scene, the cops could hear a woman screaming, and as they entered the house through the broken window, they found the man, who was later identified as 40-year-old Jonathan Goss, dead with multiple stab wounds and bruises.

“They (the mother and sister) tried to pull him off, and it didn’t work; he was too strong. So they had to resort to using weapons,” Lt. Barry Hall from the sheriff’s department told the LA Times.

The woman who was attacked was swiftly taken to a hospital to be treated for her injuries before being released, officials said.

The mother and sister will not be tried for the death of the attacker as they were acting in self-defense.

Lt. Hall said:

“They were well within their right to act in defense of their sister and daughter.”

The Sheriff’s Department chose not to identify the family.
