Vancouver, Canada: Transit police are investigating footage showing a man pushing a woman without a mask off a bus after she viciously spits at him.
The clip, which is being verified by authorities, shows the unmasked lady standing near the middle doors of the bus as a man off-screen is heard saying “disgusting”. She then turns and spits on him, and as he stands up it can be seen that he is wearing a protective mask.
Angered by her actions, the man pushes her away and subsequently throws her off the bus and onto the pavement outside.
A female passenger can then be heard saying:
“Oh my god, what’s wrong with you?” as the man wipes spit off his face and replies: “She spit on me.”
The video was first shared on TikTok and reached viral status in no time.
Afterward, it was also shared on other social media channels.
TransLink, which is in charge of Vancouver’s public transport services, replied to a tweet sharing the clip:
“The safety of our customers is our #1 priority. Thank you to everyone for their concern. Transit Police are currently investigating this matter.”

In an interview with CTV News, Transit police said they only learned of the incident after the video was shared all over the web.

Sergeant Clint Hampton told the publication that police were trying to find the person who first shared the video to try and collect more information, but the original account and video had been deleted.
“This makes the investigation difficult, we are working off a video with very limited information,” he said.
“We know when the video was posted but we don’t know when it was taken. Was this taken yesterday or was it taken three months ago?”
He also urged anyone with information about the people involved to contact authorities.
