“The greater the difficulty, the more glory in surmounting it. Skillful pilots gain their reputation from storms and tempests.” – Epictetus
We all know that life is a bumpy ride.
The worst can happen when we least expect it. And even though life can be difficult and you may not always feel like you have the strength to deal with it, you are tougher than whatever it may throw at you.
When life throws something negative at you, you must understand that you have to stay strong for those around you and for yourself.
Of course, you should let others know when you are not alright, but it is highly important to understand that it is okay to not feel well. You can cry, you can have a breakdown, and you can be frustrated or angry at the situation you have found yourself in.
And even though it’s alright to fall down and be upset, it is even more crucial to realize that you can get back up from where life has viciously landed you. You have more power in you than any situation you find yourself in. Even more importantly, God is always looking out for you. Exodus 33:14 says,
“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
Regardless of where life takes you, the spirit will go with you. It will always guide you to peace, hope, and restfulness.
Look inside yourself and you will find its power. This power will make you stronger than all ills and wrongs hurled at you.
So, next time life crushes you, try to take a step back and have some time with God (no matter what your interpretation of God may be) in order to find the answers you seek. Let the spirit remind you of your inner strength and bask in its presence and peace.
And never forget, you are tougher than anything life throws at you. Now go and take what’s yours.
