Ever since the unfortunate death of George Floyd, protests and riots have erupted all over the United States.
Businesses have been burned to the ground, statues and monuments have been destroyed, and buildings have been severely damaged.
After each such nightmare, community members often band together to clean up and help in any way they can.
So it was not surprising that Executive Director of the Oregon Historical Society, Kelly Tymchuk, found a few generous donations to help pay for the damage done to the building of the historical society.

But there was one incredibly surprising donation that made his jaw drop.
The note read,
Hello, I’m homeless, so I don’t have much to give you. Just some of my bottle collecting money. But, I saw your windows got broken and I wanted to help. You once gave me a free tour before the pandemic. So, this is a thank you.
“We’ve been fortunate to receive many generous donations to OHS over the years–some upwards o a million or more dollars,” Tymchuk told KOIN. “No donation means more to me and to the society than this dollar donation from Oscar.”

The historical society was left with a lot of damage and broken windows from the flares that had been thrown at it, but most of its artifacts were not harmed.
There was a quilt located a few blocks from the building, but Tumchuk hopes that as soon as it dries, it can still be displayed.
