Five naughty parrots separated for encouraging each other to swear at zoo visitors

Five parrots were separated after zookeepers caught them encouraging each other to swear at visitors.

Billy, Eric, Tyson, Jade, and Elsie were the naughty parrots whose G-rated vocabulary got them separated from one another. As per People, zookeepers at the Lincolnshire Wildlife Centre had no other choice but to isolate the African birds to keep them from swearing at visitors.

The misbehaving parrots were welcomed at the British zoo last August. It was all fun and games until they were caught encouraging each other to curse in front of guests.

As Associated Press reveals, the zoo’s chief executive, Steve Nichols, commented:

“We are quite used to parrots swearing, but we’ve never had five at the same time. Most parrots clam up outside, but for some reason, these five relish it.”

Mr. Nichols added that most visitors found the scene quite entertaining.

“When a parrot tells you to ‘f*ck off’ it amuses people very highly; it’s brought a big smile to a really hard year.”

However, the zoo decided to take more serious actions to stop the birds from insulting the guests.

Eventually, Billy, Eric, Tyson, Jade, and Elsie were spread out to different areas in the zoo.

Talking to BBC News, Mr. Nichols said that the mischievous birds would “swear to trigger a reaction or a response.” In case people find their naughty words amusing, they would continue cursing. The zoo chief explained:

“With the five, one would swear and another would laugh and that would carry on. Some visitors found it funny but with kids visiting at weekends, we decided to move them.

I’m hoping they learn different words within colonies – but if they teach the others bad language and I end up with 250 swearing birds, I don’t know what we’ll do.”

The Lincolnshire Wildlife Park is also home to Chico – the Amazon parrot who can sing like Beyonce. The 9-year-old yellow-crowned birdie went viral for his stunning performance of the 2008 hit “If I Were a Boy.”
