Cruela de Vil is finally getting her own origin story!
Disney’s live-action take on the classic villain from 101 Dalmatians is coming to the big screen this spring, starring Emma Stone as the main character, which was first played by Glenn Close back in 1996.

Disney recently revealed the first poster for the upcoming film and now we also have the first trailer available.

Emma Stone looks incredible in the new trailer, which you can see at the bottom of the article.

The actress will play alongside Mark Strong, Emma Thompson, Paul Walter Hause, Joel Fry, Emily Beecham, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste.

The project is directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Dana Fox and Tony McNamara.
The original 101 Dalmatians novel was written by Dodie Smith.

And here’s the official synopsis for the upcoming movie:
“Cruella, which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, played by two-time Oscar winner Emma Thompson (Howards End, Sense & Sensibility). But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.”
