“True love is eternal, infinite, and always like itself. It is equal and pure, without violent demonstrations: it is seen with white hairs and is always young in the heart.”
– Honore de Balzac
Love shouldn’t be seen as difficult.
I’m not sure why this is the general belief around the world, but it isn’t true.
Sure, at times, love can feel like a struggle.
It can truly feel like you’re making sacrifices, but not receiving anything back. But actually that depends entirely on the person you have next to you. It depends on who you’ve chosen as a partner in life, and in many cases, it simply isn’t worth the fight.
We all know what it feels like to fall in love with the wrong person.
We have all felt that heavy sense of disappointment.
But do you know what the worst part is? It’s coming to terms with the fact that you’ve been fighting for nothing. That so much time was wasted on a toxic relationship. That you’ve given your everything to a person who didn’t deserve anything… And you got nothing back but pain and heartache.
It’s not easy to accept all that. But you need to. At one point or another, you will be left with no other choice. And the suffering will take an even firmer hold on you.
You must try to let go and free yourself from the chains of the past.
Embrace your freedom once again.
Love isn’t meant to be hard. It shouldn’t make you miserable.
Give yourself some time to recover and make a promise to yourself that you will never settle for anything less but true love.
Rather than accepting an average and unfulfilling relationship, promise yourself that you will wait for the one who will accept you for who you really are.
Someone who will melt in your feet the first time they look into your eyes. Someone who will ignite the flame in you and instantly know that you are the one they’ve been craving for all their life. Someone who will always be by your side when others ignore your plight. Someone who will be ready to go the extra mile to make you feel at ease. Someone who will never tire proving their love and passion for you. Someone who will help you fix your damaged heart. Someone who will love you for all your strengths and weaknesses.
Make that promise to yourself, because you are special and deserve the best out of love.
