Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson brought a veteran to tears with a wholesome gift to thank him for his service.
Once again, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson proves he is one of the nicest people in the entertainment industry. The Red Notice star surprised one of his fans during a screening of the action-comedy movie with a special gift.
The Rock posted a video showing the emotional moment on Instagram. Alongside the clip, he wrote:
“I wanted to do something BIG… something MASSIVE… something unforgettable for one fan.”
What the iconic actor, producer, and former professional wrestler did for his admirer was absolutely stirring.
Right after the end of the movie, Johnson himself went to the cinema to greet the audience. They all went wild just to see him and to get the chance to greet him in person. But he was there to do something much more significant than just say “hello” to his fans.
Explaining why he chose to surprise Oscar Rodriguez, The Rock said:
“I read his story and I was really impressed with his story too, I want to highlight him. I gathered as much information as I could about everyone in the audience and ultimately, Oscar’s story moved me.”
“Takes care of his 75-year-old mom. Personal trainer. Leader at his church. Provides support and meals for women victimized by domestic violence. Proud and humble Navy veteran. Kind human being. Oscar said it right, just before he drove away – it’s just love. That’s all it is, brother. Just love.”
The veteran was left “speechless” by his idol’s kindness.
As Rodriguez went down to the stage, he gave Johnson a massive hug and said:
“I’m just speechless. I’m so glad to meet you, I feel so encouraged right now, so uplifted. I’m encouraged by your motivation.”
The vet added:
“I follow you on Instagram, I listen to your words. You inspire me. And yeah, let’s do it. Let’s change the world, one person at a time.”
The special gift Rodriguez received was The Rock’s personal custom truck. After realizing this was not a joke, the veteran exclaimed: “Get outta here, bro!” and gave Johnson another massive hug before bursting into tears.
As Rodrigues takes off with his new truck, the Red Notice star says to the camera:
“It’s just an honor for me to give a little bit of joy to a dude who deserves probably a lot more than my truck.”
