“We’ve got a panic on our hands!” If you have seen the 1975 classic Jaws, then you definitely know what happens after this particular phrase. However, Jaws is a cinematic tale, while the following stories actually happened in real life.
The ocean-dedicated TikTok account OceanX has recently shared several horrid stories about the deep sea that will make your skin crawl.

In part one of the video series, the narrator says:
“Is this gonna be upsetting? Yes. Am I still gonna read it? Also yes.”
She then proceeds to tell the story of a captain who found a corpse in an Egyptian harbor. When he touched the human remains with a stick, eels that had just started to devour the organs came out.
Other stories in the clip include a sailor witnessing a massive tentacle coming out of the water and whacking their vessel and a huge wave tower with an actual whale inside.

Another eerie tale tells the story of a man who found a torso still in its t-shirt found in his fishing net. When he took it back to the mainland, the coroner successfully identified the body. To thank him for his service, the fisherman offered him a fine lobster he had recently caught. The hilarious part was that the lobster was from the very same fishing net he caught the torso with.
In another video, a person shares how when they were 12, they were on a night dive with their father near Key West. There, they saw a “solid wall of flashing scales.” It turned out they were surrounded by a wall of barracuda. Years have passed since that happened, but to this day, the person cannot get the terrifying moment out of their mind.
