Coffee could reduce your chance of developing liver cancer by 50%

A coffee a day keeps the doctor away!

Great news for those who can’t imagine starting a day without a cup of this sweet black magic.

A nice cup of coffee in the morning is not just something that wakes you up. Coffee has many more benefits for our bodies than boosting our energy levels and sharpening our minds.

Another proof that coffee is always a good idea!

Coffee lovers have half the risk of being diagnosed with liver cancer.

As a matter of fact, people who drink the dark refreshment on the regular have half the risk of liver cancer, according to a recent study. They have found that coffee beans contain polyphenols that may block the dividing of cancer cells. The liver is an amazing organ that carries out hundreds of important functions, so we need to take care of it. Luckily, coffee helps!

The study was led by researchers from Queen’s University Belfast, Ireland. They observed about half a million people. More than three-quarters of them were coffee drinkers. As a result, folks who drank the energizing beverage were 50% less prone to be diagnosed with hepatocellular carcinoma, which is the most common type of liver cancer. According to Daily Mail, Dr. Una McMenamin, a researcher from the university, claims:

“Our findings are reassuring in suggesting coffee may have health benefits.”

In addition, lead author Kim Tu Tran says:

“People with a coffee-drinking habit could find keeping that habit going is good for their health. That is because coffee contains antioxidants and caffeine, which may protect against cancer. However drinking coffee is not as protective against liver cancer as stopping smoking, cutting down on alcohol or losing weight.”

Another outcome they got from the study was people who are most likely to develop a coffee-drinking habit are usually well-educated adults, who also drink alcohol every now and then.

The risk of being diagnosed with liver cancer was reduced by 50% for coffee drinkers.

During the research, 88 people were diagnosed with liver cancer. As mentioned before, the risk of developing it was 50% lower for coffee lovers. For every daily cup of the refreshing drink, the risk dropped by 13%.

What’s more, the World Cancer Research Fund also agrees that it’s ‘probable‘ coffee reduces the risk of liver cancer.

A lot of people prefer having a nice cup of hot instant coffee in the morning. We’re always in a rush, and that’s a fine alternative for when we have only 5 minutes left until we have to leave for work. Researchers had that in mind, so they looked at instant, ground, and decaf. The risk of hepatocellular carcinoma was just as low for peeps who prefer it the instant way.

So, have a cup of this harmonic mixture of heavenly taste and refreshing impact. Your health needs it. Your soul deserves it!
