An Iraq chef has died after falling into a vat of chicken soup.
Issa Ismail, 25, has lost his life after suffering third-degree burns on 70% of his body. The misfortune occurred after the father-of-three slipped and fell into a giant pot of chicken soup he was preparing at Hazel Hall’s wedding venue.
The fatal incident took place on June 15 in Zakho, Iraq, Unilad reports.
After felling into the vessel of boiling hot soup and then to the floor, the young chef was rushed to Dohuk hospital. At the medical center, Ismail was treated for his severe burns for several days. Tragically, the doctors couldn’t save him and he passed away five days later.
Speaking to Rudaw Media Network, a relative to the father-of-three said he had worked as a chef for eight years, Arab News reveals. During his time as a professional cook, Ismail has been preparing food at weddings, funerals, and various ceremonies in the region.
The chef’s tragic death sparked a wave of support on social media. Many slammed Ismail’s employers for failing to secure safety measures and having poor organization, leading to the 25-year-old’s death, as per Gulf News.
