Bridger Walker – the heroic six-year-old who rescued his little sister from a vicious dog attack has his scars completely transformed.
Last year, the courageous Wyoming kid put his own life in danger to protect his younger sibling. Sadly, the boy’s face was mauled by the ruthless German Sheperd mix that went after the little girl. During the horrific encounter, Bridger got several bites, which required the dreadful number of 90 stitches afterward.
Thankfully, after hearing of his praiseworthy deed, two notable dermatologists decided to help with his recovery. As LADbible reveals, Dr. Dhaval Bhanusali and Dr. Cory B. Maughan offered the boy’s family to work on removing his scars for free. What’s more, they were backed up by their friend, Dr. Sandra Lee, better known as Dr. Pimple Popper.
The dermatologists are performing high-tech laser treatments to help make the brave kid’s scars less visible.
While the marks left by the brutal attack will not vanish entirely, the experts are willing to do everything in their power to make them as less noticeable as possible.
As per Daily Mail, Dr. Bhanusali explained:
“Bridger inspired me and in a time where so much negativity was surrounding the world, he provided hope and represented all that is good. It is my greatest privilege to try and help, and while a few of us may get the credit, this story is more about the dermatology world coming together to help a little boy who is truly a hero. We are fortunate to be in a place where we can help heal and I’m just thankful to be part of this wonderful dermatology community.”
Since the boy was a big fan of Dr. Pimple Popper, her friend, Dr. Bhanusali, asked her to say “Hello!” to cheer him up.
The kind-hearted doctor couldn’t decline such a touching request. Dr. Lee said:
“How could I say no? It’s so wonderful that both Dr. Bhanusali and Dr. Maughan are helping him improve his scars. Although I am not directly involved in his care, if I can do anything to make Bridger more comfortable and remind him what a brave, kind, good young man he is, I’m there. I am the lucky one – that Bridger knows my name and I have the opportunity to meet him. He is in great hands, and I look forward to following his progress.”
According to Bridger’s dad, this transformation is “life-changing.”
Robert Walker, the kid’s father, expressed his gratitude to the American Academy of Dermatology Association:
“After going above and beyond to provide support, encouragement, and expert care, Dr. Bhanusali reinforced our appreciation for the life-changing care that dermatologists provide. My family will always be grateful to him for finding an innovative treatment solution to help our son. Bridger won’t be constantly reminded of the attack when looking in the mirror and can return to his childhood, nearly unscarred.”
After his act of heroism went viral, famous actors, who impersonate popular superheroes, personally expressed their admiration.
Stars like Anne Hathaway, Mark Ruffalo, Hugh Jackman, and Chris Evans sent heartwarming messages to the fearless kid. Captain America(Evans) even recorded a video telling Bridger:
“What you did was so brave, so selfless. Your sister is so lucky to have you as a big brother.”
