Baby Foxes Show up at a House and the Pictures are Melting Hearts

Many people may think that foxes are mean, up to no good animals, but they can in fact actually be quite sweet and loving.

As life in quarantine has driven many of us almost to the point of insanity, nature is flourishing and it looks like it’s going to be a beautiful summer.

Recently, an elderly woman from Illinois, US, had herself a great time when two baby foxes came to her porch. Red foxes are local to Illinois so there was no surprise they were around. The babies would often go up to her sliding doors, and that’s where the pictures were taken.

The photos were shared on Reddit by a person nicknamed Vechrotex whose grandma was the lucky host of the little foxes.

Her grandmother had snapped some wonderful pictures of the little furballs the first they came to visit, and they went viral in no time.

In an interview with Bored Panda, the person explains that the little foxes always came around with their mother who would check on them while they played and poked their noses around grandma’s house.

The babies could have been around three to four weeks of age because their eyes were open wide. Infant red foxes are born blind and only open their eyes two weeks later.

In addition, they heavily rely on their mother’s milk for the first month, and after that, they start consuming solid food and eventually learn to hunt.

“Here in Illinois we get red foxes in forested areas, we see them a lot and it’s not that big of a deal,” Vechrotex told Bored Panda. “One day my grandma saw a baby red fox and took a picture of it. She shared the picture with me and I thought it was just so cute, I decided to post it. I’m glad I was able to make so many people happy! The mom comes by a lot more than the babies. She is always close when her babies are on the porch.”

And grandma surely did not mind and enjoyed watching the little angels playing on her porch.

Sadly, not everyone had heartwarming stories to share about these tiny foxes.

One person on Reddit wrote:

“One of our neighbors had a small pet door in their back door. A fox cub let itself in, ate all the cat’s food, and then fell asleep in the space between the refrigerator and the wall. The mama fox tried to get in to retrieve her cub but could not fit in the pet door or was afraid to attempt it. So the neighbor’s closed all the interior doors to the kitchen and left the backdoor open so mama and cub could be reunited.”
