The sweetest story you’ll read today: New Zealand emergency services received an adorable call from a kid wanting to show them his cool toys.
New Zealand Police recently shared audio of a heartwarming call they got from a four-year-old boy. Thankfully, there wasn’t an emergency. The child only wanted to show the police his toys.
As per Daily Mail, in a Facebook post about the endearing call, the police wrote:
“While we don’t encourage children to call 111 to show us their toys, this was too cute not to share.”
In the call, starting with the sweetest “Hi” ever, the kid says: “Police Lady?…. Can I tell you something?”
When the police dispatcher welcomes the boy to tell her something, he says :
“I’ve got some toys for you… Come over and see them.”
The audio continues with the dispatcher asking where exactly the child was located before his father noticed he was on the phone. He then grabbed it and explained to the police that he had been helping out while his mother was sick. He added he was “focusing on the other child” and the boy apparently “snuck out.”
Nevertheless, shortly after the adorable call, a police car showed up in front of the boy’s home. Constable Kurt was happy to see the kid’s toys, which were indeed “cool.”
What’s more, the policeman was kind enough to show the boy his awesome police car and its flashing lights.
Afterward, the officer had “a good educational chat with the child and his parents about only using 111 for emergencies.”
Social media users were touched by the story. One said: “OMG, I’m tearing up again (sniff sniff), that’s so precious.”
Another wrote: “Absolutely love this how gorgeous! So lovely of the Police to respond to his request!”
A third added: “Awesome guys! You made the kid’s day.”
