They say life is a balance of holding on and letting go, holding on to things that had a profound impact on our life that made us stronger and helped shape us into the person we are today and letting go of things that no longer serve us purpose so that we may move forward in a positive way.
When faced with a difficult decision, sometimes we are forced to reflect on our lifestyle choices and past regrets, some we see as a great success and others a painful loss, however, whatever situation life throws at you know that if it doesn’t make you happy, then it’s time to part ways and move on to something better, something that is going to help you excel and shine brighter than ever. This can be a painful process, but remember your happiness is the most important thing.
So, here are 10 signs it’s time to let go and move on…
1: Feeling undervalued:
If you’re constantly feeling put down at work or in your personal life, then it is time to ask yourself are these people good for my soul? Don’t waste time or energy on people who drag you down or hold you back. Surround yourself with those who inspire, motivate and love you, unconditionally.
2: Settling for less:
Never compromise your dream because it is the blueprint for who you are. Don’t settle for anything less because you will always feel less; less creative, less inspired, less determined and you deserve more than that, you deserve everything you’ve ever wanted.
3: Exhaustion:
If something or someone is draining you and leaving you with a sense of constant exhaustion then it’s time to take a step back and ask yourself, is this worth my energy? Life is short, remember that.
4: Loss of joy and creativity:
If you lose that spark inside you and begin to feel like your dreams are no longer relevant, then it is time to step outside of the person you have become and remember who it is you are meant to be. Look for something beautiful in each day and you will soon be inspired again.
5: Scared of change:
Nobody really likes change at first, however, if we never take risks then we will never discover new parts of ourselves. Don’t be afraid to take a leap of faith and change direction once in a while.
6: Constantly sad in relationships:
My friend once asked me if I was dating an onion because I cried way more than I smiled. This made me laugh a lot, but it also put a lot into perspective for me. If you have more feelings of sadness than joy and happiness then it is time to ask yourself; Am I dating an onion?
7: Feeling trapped:
When something no longer serves you, you will feel it in your soul, it will yearn for that next adventure. Don’t ignore those feelings, if you’re constantly craving that sense of freedom, it’s definitely time to let go and move on to the next chapter of your life.
8: Living in the past:
Most people spend so much of their life constantly fixated on the past that they miss out on all of the wonderful blessings that surround them daily. Do not be held back by something that caused you pain, move towards dreams, goals, and ambitions. Look to the future and always appreciate the now.
9: Never putting yourself first:
We are led to believe that putting ourselves first is a selfish act but this is not true. How can you love another if you do not love yourself? How can you value anything if you’re always sacrificing your own health and happiness just to please everybody else? The result of this is you end up faking your own happiness and no peace of mind comes from this act. It’s okay to put yourself first, let go of the guilt and move past it.
10: Low expectations:
If you are surrounding yourself with people/situations that don’t help you reach your full potential then it is time to walk away and move on. Don’t be afraid to set the bar high, you can achieve anything you put your mind to, you just have to believe you can. Expect the best from yourself and you will succeed in all that you do.
