This 39-year-old otherwise healthy woman who showed signs of coronavirus was found dead in her kitchen awaiting test results

A 39-year-old American woman was found dead by her partner while she was waiting for her coronavirus test to come back.

Natasha Ott, a social worker/HIVcouncelor from New Orleans, was found laying on the kitchen floor on Friday by her boyfriend, Josh Anderson.

Natasha had previously refused to test herself in order to leave more test kits for patients in need, as per the New Orleans Advocate.

In a soul-crushing social media message, Josh revealed that Natasha had been in ‘good health’ and urged other people to take the crisis more seriously.

“The time for joking about Covid-19 is over,” he writes.

“Now is the time to keep yourself, your loved ones, and everyone else safe.”

He explained that Natasha first experienced some common flu symptoms on March 10.

She had told him that she felt as if she had a ‘respiratory cold’ and a ‘tiny fever.’

Even though she could have had herself tested at her workplace, she denied it because there were just 5 tests left.

Assuming that the risk of her getting infected was low, she chose to let people in need take the test and instead went to her doctor to check herself for the flu, for which she tested negative for.

On March 13, she texted her partner to explain:

“Hey, they don’t think I need to get tested unless I develop a fever. All looks well.”

Once fever and fatigue overcame her during the weekend, Natasha messaged Josh again saying:

But after she became fatigued and feverish over the weekend, she texted him again on Sunday night, saying: “Hey, I’m not feeling so hot still. I may be testing at work tomorrow.

“I’m probably fine. I just tried to drink some medicinal whiskey and feel unwell. I’m ok. I love you.”

Eventually, she took the coronavirus test and was even feeling good enough to walk her dog with her boyfriend.

And even though she said she was feeling highly energetic, she also had mentioned that she felt as if “something” was in her lungs.

Natasha said that her results had been delayed and that she was hoping for an answer by Monday.

Josh received a final text in which she said that she was feeling ‘a little better and hopeful’, but then stopped answering calls and texts.

When Josh started panicking and went home to check on her, he found her lifeless body on the kitchen floor.

In a heartbreaking tribute on Facebook, he wrote the following:

“Seeing a woman I knew to be so full of life lying on the floor lifeless was devastating.

I was afraid to touch her. I held her anyway.

Natasha was a profoundly kind, passionate, funny and loving 39-year-old woman in good health… she loved those who were fortunate enough to be close to her with every ounce of her heart.”

Josh urged people to take this crisis more seriously:

“The absolute least-interesting thing about her was the way that she died, but I’d like to talk about that here now because I’d like everyone to wake-up to the reality of what we are facing.”

Natasha’s test results have not yet been disclosed.

Over 27,000 cases of COVID-19 are now a fact in the United States, with 340 losses of life.
