TikToker goes viral for climbing one of the most dangerous hikes in the U.S. wearing sandals.
Kagan Brooks, a Chicago-based travel blogger, recently posted about her adventurous hike at the Angels Landing in Zion National Park, Utah. This particular location is thought to be one of the most dangerous public hikes in the U.S.
What’s interesting about Brooks’ experience is that instead of wearing specialized hiking shoes, she completed the rocky trip in sandals!
As per Unilad, the travel blogger created the now-viral video to give her followers valuable tips about the Angels Landing site and warn them about the dangers they might face if they decide to attempt the hike. However, rather than commenting on the information she provides, TikTok users couldna help but notice her unusual choice of footwear for the occasion.
One questioned:
“Love this hike, so beautiful! but excuse me ma’am are you hiking in sandals?”
After receiving many questions about her sandals, Brooks jokingly replied:
“LOLLL they were chacos!!! My favourite hiking shoes ever! I wear them on EVERY hike.”
The TikTok video about Angels Landing has been viewed nearly 1 million times, receiving over 128,000 likes.

To the haters who kept criticizing her choice of footwear, Brooks said:
“Why are you guys so pressed about my shoes, they are what I enjoy hiking in. Go find something else to be mad about.”
Some of the more skeptical viewers expressed doubts that the hike may not be as dangerous as the TikToker portrays it. One wrote:
“Respect for doing the hike but it is nowhere close to the most dangerous public hike in the nps.”
Another added:
“Paved walking paths and chains to avoid falling? Most dangerous hike in the NP system I think not.”
