Woman “Calls 911” Over Wrong Burger King Order
A woman has been widely criticized for reportedly calling the police to make a complaint about a mixed-up Burger King order.
In a TikTok video shared on Reddit that has recently been taken down, a taped conversation between an alleged 911 operator and an angry customer takes place as the woman complains about her restaurant order.
The area seems to be Orange County and the customer talks about a Western BBQ Burger.
The operator can be heard saying she is from the “traffic department” and asking how she can assist the caller.
The customer then says that she is “over here at Burger King, right here in San Clemente,” before making it clear that she lives in San Clemente but is currently in the Laguna Niguel.
“I think that’s where I’m at,” the woman said.
The frustrated customer goes on to explain that she ordered her drive-through food three times and says she can see staff at the restaurant “mopping the floor inside.” She then says she understands that they are busy but eventually flip-flops by telling the operator that “they’re not even busy, okay?”.
“I’ve been the only car here. I asked them four different times to make me a Western BBQ Burger,” the woman could be heard saying.
She then claims that the staff keep giving her a “hamburger with lettuce, tomato, cheese and onions,” to which she responded:
“I’m not leaving, I want a Western Burger.”
The customer insists
The customer is also said to have told the person on the other line that her kids were hungry after she picked them up from Taekwondo lessons and that she was going home to San Clemente when she made a stop at the fast-food chain.
The woman claims that one of the employees gave her another burger that was also “wrong.” She says she was forced to repeat her order four times before being asked to park in front of the restaurant. The customer then said she refused to do so and demanded to be given her proper order.
She proceeds to talk about wanting a refund but being refused one by the worker due to her children being hungry and says she eventually had to “jump on the toll freeway.” The customer then threatened to call the cops because she just wanted to be given a proper “Western Burger.”
“Now is that so hard?,” she tells the operator.
And that is when the 911 operator ran out of patience
The 911 operator then asks the caller “what exactly” it is that the woman expects the police to do for her to which the woman responds by demanding that officers are sent to the location to ensure that her burger is made properly.
“Ma’am, we’re not gonna go down there and enforce your Western bacon cheeseburger,” the supposed operator said.
The customer then asks the operator how she was supposed to react to which the operator replies by saying that the problem is between her and the restaurant manager and that the police cannot go and “enforce how to make a hamburger.”
“That’s not a criminal issue. There’s nothing criminal,” she says.
The customer is then told to “calmly and rationally speak to the manager and figure out what to do between you.”
The customer then says that that the manager did not want to deal with her and she had to leave “because they’re mopping the floor and it’s all full of suds and they don’t wanna go through there.”
The operator then advises the woman to simply get a refund or “go somewhere else,” once again noting that it’s not a criminal issue, to which the caller responds with:
“Well, that’s – you’re supposed to be here to protect me.”
The 911 operator then asks what they’re supposed to be protecting her from, “the wrong cheeseburger?” and ends the call by telling the caller that she needs to “act like an adult.”
The recording shared on TikTok has since been taken down.
