Tour de France organizers are planning to sue the person who caused the “worst-ever” crash at the bicycle race, but they can’t locate them.
The spectator who caused a massive crash at this year’s Tour de France has reportedly disappeared. This news comes as it was revealed that the race organizers have threatened to sue them, as per Unilad.
I hope Omi & Opi are proud of you..
On a serious note though; great to see still many spectators are loving our sport and cheering for us, but please, stay on the side of the road, not on the road! pic.twitter.com/0sU4yKR3nk

At present, police are working towards identifying the person who provoked the chain reaction while trying to get themselves on camera with a large hand-written sign. Clearly, the spectator didn’t think their actions through, as they were the reason for the “worst-ever” Tour de France crash that brought down almost all the riders taking part in the competition.
Instead of taking responsibility, the fan disappeared instantly after the incident. According to a local police force who spoke to L’Equipe, it was a “manifestly deliberate violation of an obligation of safety or prudence.”
Following the accident, Le Tour organizers have warned they are taking legal action to prevent similar disasters in the future.
Race deputy director Pierre-Yves Thouault said:
“We are suing this woman who behaved so badly. We are doing this so that the tiny minority of people who do this don’t spoil the show for everyone.”
Furthermore, the cycling reporter Daniel McMahon described the incident as “The worst Tour de France crash I’ve ever seen.”

As Cycling News reports, eight riders required medical treatment after the crash. What’s more, one of them had to be taken to hospital after suffering a suspected broken hand. It is assumed that there are other injured racers, considering the magnitude of the clash.
