Award-winning actress Judi Dench, 85, has become the oldest person on the cover British Vogue.
She can be seen in the magazine’s June edition, and Edward Enninful, the editor-in-chief called her “one of the nation’s most beloved citizens” in an Instagram post from last Monday.
“I can’t tell you how pleased I am to see Dame Judi Dench, the unassailable queen of stage and screen, starring on her first Vogue cover at the age of 85,” he wrote.
Dench is an Oscar-winning actress who is known for playing in widely-successful motion pictures such as “Shakespeare In Love,” “Notes On A Scandal,” and “Skyfall.”
Her photoshoot was made at the beginning of March, just before the United Kingdom introduced its coronavirus lockdown.
“I am sure I feel like everyone else, such unprecedented times are quite hard to comprehend,” she told the magazine.
“What is a good thing is that it has made people aware of the predicament of others who are completely alone”
“If a great deal of kindness comes out of this, then that will be a plus,” she added.
During the lockdown, the actress went viral for a video recorded by her daughter back in March.
