People who possess the low maintenance but have high standards quality are the best people to have around, be it whether you’re friends or dating, they are head strong and know exactly what they want, and most importantly they are independent.
They’re the kind of people who don’t fuss the small stuff, fend for themselves and never accept anything less than what they know they deserve.
Here is a list of things you should know before getting serious with someone who is low maintenance but has high standards:
1. We don’t care about insignificant things, we care about what matters
We aren’t going to pick a fight over dishes and clothes on the floor no, if we are going to fight its going to be about something a little more serious.
2. We don’t care for extravagant gifts, we’re happy as long as its thoughtful
NB* This ones important
We don’t care about fancy jewellery and expensive shi*t. All we care about is whether or not its thoughtful. Put some thought into a gift and we will immediately know because there’s a difference between unconsciously getting us something and consciously getting us something. We love memories more than ‘things’. So if you are at a cross roads, take us somewhere beautiful.
3. Relationships mean jack shit if the connection isn’t real
We, by default, base the quality of our relationships on how real the connection is, so naturally if our relationship is purely based on seeing each other out at social events and no other contact is made after, then I’m not exactly going to come save your ass at 4am in the morning when you’re stranded.
4. We don’t often expect things, but when it comes to the fundamental things in life, we naturally do expect you to deliver, for example:
Feelings; they are a fundamental part of human life and we naturally expect you to be aware of that. We understand that people cant mind read and not everyone is an empathic however, we do expect you to be mindful of our feelings because we choose to be mindful about yours.
5. “Do no harm but take no shit” is literally our life motto
If something is wrong, you can bet your bottom dollar we’re going to tell you about it, point blank, straight up.
6. We know our worth and what we deserve
We love treating people with the love and respect they deserve so naturally we expect you to treat us with the love and respect we deserve. A little mindfulness and consideration goes a long way.
