This story proves that having a pet can literally save your life!

A cat’s meowing helped the Bodmin Police in England find an 83-year-old lady who had gone missing in the area. As The Aimal Club reports, the woman was found on August 14.

The cat’s meowing was heard by a lady living in the neighborhood, who traced it back to the corner of a large maize field. She soon realized that the feline belonged to the missing woman and was trying to alert her of her whereabouts.

The elderly woman had fallen deep into an embankment in the field near her home and was unable to get out of there on her own.

Thanks to Piran, her heroic cat, the police were able to locate and rescue her.

“The female was located by a member of the public who had spotted the female’s cat, meowing in the corner of a large maize field near to her home address. The elderly female had fallen approximately 70ft down a very steep embankment, with incredibly difficult access and uneven terrain.”

After they rescued the woman, she was rushed to the hospital. She is reportedly in a stable condition and “in good spirits.”
