6 Best Parking Apps

Gone are the days of endlessly circling the block looking for a parking spot on the street, and of driving past pricey parking garages praying there’s a spot open — or at least, they should be. With so many different parking apps and services out there, finding a parking spot should be a piece of cake!

Unfortunately, finding parking in big cities can still be a struggle. The parking apps that are available don’t always give you the information you need, or they might just be downright incorrect. Luckily for you, we’ve weeded out the bad ones and put together a top list of parking apps, ranked from best to worst, so you can find the one that fits your needs best.

1. Way.com

The Way app, available on both iOS and Android devices, allows you to find airport parking, city parking, and event parking at a great discount, but that’s not the only thing that it does. While you’re booking parking at your favorite destination, you can also go ahead and book some fun activities while you’re at it, including tours, theme park tickets, and more! It’s essentially your one-stop booking platform when it comes to getting around and enjoying a city, or creating the ultimate vacation experience. And even if you’re not driving around to your next destination, Way can still help by giving you a great deal on booking long-term airport parking.

2. ParkWhiz

If you’re not interested in on-street parking and you prefer garage or lot parking, then ParkWhiz might be the right app for you. It gives you lots of event parking options, but can be a little pricey. Unfortunately, ParkWhiz is not great if you want to find long-term or airport parking, as there really aren’t that many options for those two types of parking listed on the app. Its usefulness pretty much lies in helping you find quick, short-term parking on the go, with little notice. ParkWhiz is great for convenience.

3. BestParking

BestParking has gotten a lot of press, but is it really the best? Well, it’s certainly good enough to make this list. BestParking isn’t just available in major cities, like some other apps out there. Instead, you can find parking on the app in more than 100 North American cities.

4. SpotHero

SpotHero is another really popular pick, and for a few good reasons. The discounts are pretty nice and you can sign up for a business account if you have multiple drivers that will be expensing parking costs to your business. While these features make SpotHero unique, there are still two downsides, however. One, the app is really limited as far as cities where it offers service; you basically have to be in a big, U.S. city to get service, as there are less than 30 destinations included on the app. Two, the app does require that you pay for your parking in advance, which isn’t always the case with all parking apps.

5. ParkMe

If you’re traveling, driving and parking internationally, ParkMe is a great choice. ParkMe provides parking at nearly 100,000 locations, in more than 60 countries. It’s a good way to go if you’re a globetrotter who loves to rent a car while in a new country. This really makes the app stand out from the others. Additionally, the app has a parking timer to help you avoid overstaying your welcome and it also gives you on-the-go directions to your chosen lot, rather than just a street address.

6. Parker

Parker is really different because — unlike these other apps — its main feature is not allowing you to book parking. Instead, it prides itself on giving you the most up-to-date information on street parking (and lot and garage parking as well), so you can easily go park wherever you like, for the price you like. The app also offers information on confusing street signs and lets you search for special parking spots like EV charging station parking spots and ADA spaces. The app is available for both iOS and Android.
