An outraged builder wrecked several newly-built apartments after the developer allegedly refused to pay him.
A German family recorded a yellow Volvo machine tearing down apartments from the building across the street. The shocking incident took place in Blumberg, on Wednesday, at around 7:30 pm, Daily Mail reports.
The contractor supposedly smashed at least three balconies and several windows as an act of payback because the developer allegedly owes him approximately €4.9 million($5.8 million).
The damage the angry builder caused was reportedly estimated at around €500,000($590,000).
Following the incident, the police evacuated the area, as fears were raised that the building’s gas containers could have been corrupted by the digger. Thankfully, no one was inside the building at the time, and no injuries were reported.
The frustrated builder, who claims he is still owed the $5.8 million, eventually handed himself in to the cops.
According to German newspaper Schwarzwuelder Bote, witnesses later claimed that the rampage only stopped because the machine’s hydraulic hose broke.
As it turns out, this is not the first time someone uses a digger to get revenge. As per the media outlet, about a month ago, an English farmer was seen using similar machinery to flip over a car that had parked on his property. The man was reportedly fed up with “being taunted by anti-social thugs.”
