An American Idol finalist left the contest after a KKK-related video of him emerged.
Caleb Kennedy, a former American Idol contestant, was one of the 5 finalists at the show before a dreadful secret surfaced. The young musician dropped out of the program after a video showing him sitting next to someone wearing a KKK-like hood emerged, as per TMZ.
Kennedy announced his American Idol exit with the words:
“Hey y’all, this is gonna be a bit of a surprise. There was a video that surfaced on the internet and it displayed actions that were not meant to be taken in that way.”
Commenting on the scandal, the country singer said the video was from when he was younger. He claimed that at the time, he “did not think about the actions.” However, Kennedy did mention that this cannot serve as an excuse.

The ex-finalist apologized to everyone he let down and said he is going to take time to reflect on his behavior. He added:
“I’m so sorry! I pray that I can one day regain your trust in who I am and have your respect.”
Caleb’s last performance of his country-rock rendition of Coldplay’s “Violet Hill” stunned the public, but he won’t be performing for the show anymore.
